My Story

Meet Patches Patches is a sweet boy who is about 1 year old and weighs 45 pounds. He was an owner surrender to our local shelter, who called us to help. He was surrendered through no fault of his own, because of a change in living situation, they couldn't take their sweet shadow boy with them. The staff fell in love with him, and knew he didn't deserve to be in a kill shelter. He does have a very brief warm-up period when meeting new people, followed by curiousness and kisses, and being a typical Heeler once he knows you, you will always be his best friend. and loves to get attention and affection. He is very playful and smart. Cattle dogs are also known as shadow dogs, very loyal and consider their owners to be their pack, they are very smart and get very attached to their people! He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue. He is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call his own! Patches is at our rescue in Hondo, TX and a meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. If you would like to add this cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip Patches tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
