My Story

Animal Profile: Penelope wound up in the Stanislaus shelter as a stray the week before Christmas. When no one came to adopt her, she wound up on 'the list' and was at risk for euthanasia due to space. We had to bust her outta there! She is a friendly, sweet puppy that deserve a chance to find a loving home. We can't wait to meet her! Foster Update: Penelope is a sweet, well-mannered pup ready for her forever home! She walks beautifully on a leash and is making great progress with potty training. Her calm and gentle nature makes her a wonderful companion. She enjoys romping around with canine friends but also knows when it's time to settle down in her crate. After playtime, Penelope is all about snuggles and will happily curl up next to her humans. Whether you're looking for a playful buddy or a loving cuddle companion, Penelope is the full package! We are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, a canine companion would be a bonus. We are not considering apartments at this time. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue. She arrives in Seattle on 02/13/25 via START rescue transport and will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.
