Penny is one of our latest rescues, and oh my goodness, she is a sweetie. She is one of three Jack Cocker puppies we took in from a family in the valley. Their parents Jack Russell and Cocker Spaniel had a litter. By the time they called us, the puppies were seven weeks old. The family didn't have money to pay for puppy food and the mother would no longer allow them to nurse. She was becoming very aggressive towards them. When we picked them up Penny had an odd bend to he leg and her brothers, Connor and Tate, had bite marks on their heads and faces.
Penny went straight to her foster mom, Nicole Quaiver, and we took in the two males. They were all starving for food and attention. The boys cried and barked for three days before they finally calmed down. Penny had x-rays taken of her arm. It was an old break that had healed. Unfortunately, it was broken on the growth plate. We are waiting for the orthopedic surgeon to tell us the next step.
We will keep you updated on Penny's progress as we learn more. Penny is a lovely puppy and once we have taken care of her medical needs, she will need a forever. Penny is in the middle of being vetted. She will be fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.
