Adoptable LAFM Pepper is still patiently waiting for her forever home.
If you’ve always loved “Santa’s Little Helper” from the Simpsons, but didn’t know where you could find a smaller, sweeter, and much smarter version, then you’re in luck! Pepper is an ~8 month old chihuahua/Italian greyhound mix who will keep you constantly entertained with her ultra-low-to-the-ground running style, and her “assertive” methods of seeking your affection - this gal is so cuddly, she will audibly groan if she doesn’t feel like she’s sufficiently close to you (and trust us, she has no problem getting VERY close). Pepper is very sweet, very sensitive, and very smart - so with just a little gentle training, she’s become totally crate- and house-trained, and is picking up more and more basic commands weekly.
Pepper is both dog- and cat-friendly, and really enjoys both her canine and feline foster siblings. We think Pepper would do best in a home with another balanced dog to help her transition to a new environment and so she would have a friend to hang with and learn from. Since she is on the shier side of the spectrum, she would also benefit from additional and ongoing socialization, as she can sometimes be reactive to unknown dogs she encounters on the street. Since she does respond to training so well, we think this can definitely be overcome with just additional patience and exposure.
