My Story

Meet Pepper! This spunky pup is all ears and energy, growing up in a shelter but holding onto hope for a forever family. With ears that seem to have a life of their own, Pepper is always on alert, ready to listen to the sounds of a loving home calling her name. At just 5 months old and weighing under 30 pounds, she’s still a small bundle of joy, but we expect her to grow into a medium to large size, possibly over 50 pounds. While a DNA test hasn’t confirmed her breed, her intelligent eyes and playful antics suggest a mix of Lab and Shepherd. Pepper’s journey began when she was found as a stray alongside her littermates and brought to a local shelter. This environment has limited her exposure to the wider world, but it hasn’t dampened her spirit or her potential to become an incredible companion with the right guidance and love. Pepper embodies the full essence of puppyhood, teeming with playful energy and curiosity. She’s in search of a patient and committed owner who can guide her through the essentials of obedience training, socialization, and potty training—key steps on her path to becoming a well-rounded and joyful adult. Although Pepper hasn’t been formally tested with cats, we believe she could adapt well if introduced while young, though no guarantees can be made. Her interactions with children have been minimal, and she would do best in a home where children understand the playful, sometimes nippy nature of puppies. Slow and carefully monitored introductions are recommended. She is extremely dog-friendly and would absolutely thrive in a home with another canine companion to show her the ropes and join her in her playful adventures. As a lively young dog, Pepper will flourish in a home that embraces the joys and challenges of raising a puppy. Regular potty breaks and short walks are essential, as prolonged solitude isn’t ideal for her. A home with a yard would be perfect for Pepper to safely explore and expend her boundless energy, and while an apartment might be considered, it would have to meet her need for space and stimulation. Transitioning from a shelter to a home will be a major change for Pepper, requiring patience and understanding from her new family as she learns to adapt and understand what it means to be a cherished part of a household. The shelter is currently at full capacity, and Pepper urgently needs to find a home to avoid the risk of euthanasia. We cannot save her without a confirmed adopter. Adoption Requirements: - Apartments/condos considered on a case-by-case basis. - Must have a yard, ideally fenced. Pepper is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and on monthly prevention. She is ready to find her forever home and start a new chapter filled with love and adventure! Important Notes: All our dogs, including Pepper, are located in Texas and will be transported only after adoption, with all transportation costs covered by the adoption fee. We make educated guesses about the breeds based on their physical traits and behaviors but encourage adopters to focus more on Pepper's vibrant personality and how she might fit into their lifestyle rather than on breed specifics. Are you ready to be the hero in Pepper's story? She’s waiting to bring her boundless energy and affection into your life, promising endless adventures and unconditional love.
