My Story

"Hi, my name is Pepper, but my caretakers sometimes call me Pepperoni. I came here after my household/living situation took a pretty big change. Unfortunately due to the new circumstances I was no longer able to stay with my original family. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little sad and confused, but my new caretakers are doing their best to remind me how much I'm loved and cared for, and they tell me that I may be able to find a forever family that will love me too. I'm a little nervous for this new adventure, but I'm so motivated to be part of a household again, and try to get back to how things were before. Sometimes my caretakers have to remind me to quiet down since I guess I can be a little noisy when I get excited. I hope I can find a forever family soon!" Pepper came to us as she mentioned due to a somewhat unexpected household change through no fault of her own. She was very confused, and has displayed a bit of anxiety while staying with us. She is currently on some medications to help ease her stress a little bit hopefully until she finds her forever home. When she was brought to us her previous owner mentioned that she could be nippy at times, and definitely did not do well with chickens. Though we don't know about the chickens, we have not observed any nippy behaviors while staying with us. We can't say for certain, but it seems some of this may have been environmental rather than a true behavioral issue. Sometimes Pepper can get a bit vocal when she's excited, and may not do the best for close living quarters such as apartments. Additionally Pepper does sometimes get an itch to play and run so she would probably enjoy having at least a medium sized fenced in yard. Due to her potential husky lineage she may be good at escaping and it is recommended that she's not left outside for extended periods alone, in case she gets a bit too curious as to what's on the other side of her fence. Pepper truly deserves a permanent forever family that will love her for all of her years as she is such a sweet and loving girl. We're hoping we can be her jumping off point into an amazing life going forward. Please reach out to us if you'd like to set up a meet and greet. "Thank you so much for stopping by.
