A talkative chap, he is always willing to gently tell you stories about his day. He is a watchful companion, protective, always ready for booty scratches and tender affection. He will need patient introductions to new people and animals in the home and continued reinforcement on basic manners, housebreaking and boundaries. He walks well on a leash and enjoys the outdoors, soft beds and blankets, and lots of treats. He does well with children and other dogs but is untested with cats and small animals. Having a background of neglect, Phoenix needs patient guidance with food, treats and resources in an environment of trust and safety.
