Poseidon

Poseidon is an 8 month old AKC registered Cane Corso puppy acquired from a breeder who was needing rid of him due to backend weakness. We quickly grabbed the then 4 month old puppy up and put him in foster care. A trip to the orthopedic specialist shattered our hearts with news that, according to the x-rays, 2 of his vertebrae between his shoulder blades are twisted together, pinching his spinal cord. Surgery is not an option. Despite the appearance of his "wiggly legs", the surgeon assured us that Poseidon is not in any pain. In fact, he can't feel his legs which is why he can't tell which way they're going most of the time. This sweet baby didn't get the memo that he's a special needs dog and can bunny hop run to chase a ball or his English Mastiff foster sister, his little human foster siblings and his foster brother cat. He's completely house trained and doesn't use a kennel since it's difficult for him to crawl in and out of one. Poseidon's only requirement as explained by the ortho is; flat, carpeted (for traction) surfaces with no more than 2 steps in or out of the house.
