My Story

Meet Prince, a 4-year-old, 70-pound Husky with a heart as big as his voice! This handsome boy is a certified love bug who adores giving kisses, singing his Husky songs (including “I love you”), and soaking up all the cuddles he can get. When he’s not serenading you, Prince loves playing outside, going on walks, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood from his favorite window. Prince is fully potty-trained, knows basic commands, and is thriving with training—he’s learning to enjoy his kennel, where he gets his favorite treats and bones. He’s a routine-loving pup who shines when given structure and consistency. Prince is looking for a home where he can be the center of attention—he’s not used to sharing his humans and secretly dreams of being the only dog at home. He may do ok with a dog his size or larger, but definitely no smaller dogs. He’s great with teens and adults but feels a little uneasy around small kids and babies. Cats, small animals, and nail clippers? Hard pass. But peanut butter, belly rubs, and a fenced yard? That’s the stuff of dreams for this guy! Prince is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He’s ready to find his forever home, and he’ll even bring his kennel along to get settled in. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and charming companion, Prince might just be your perfect match! PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
