My Story

Please consider this urgent plea for a Grand Dog, especially if you want to Stamp Out Lookism. We think that she's been passed over (so long that her time is about to run out) because of her eyes - they are too close together, even though she's a cute dog! She looks rather like a child's wonky drawing of a dog, rather than a dog supermodel. Why else would she always be passed over? If you're someone who loves a doggie who gives you her paw whenever you ask, who lets you pet her all over, who bows down when she's asking you if you'll play with her, who has the bounciness and determination to be with you on all your high-energy adventures, and who takes her watchdogging/protection-of-you to heart, Queen Bean would be an extraordinarily good fit for you. She only has to look at you to start tail-wagging. (Because of her high energy, it's thought that she would be best with older children if there are children in her home.) I hope you know someone who can save her from the coming axe, because, once loved, she's the dog of a Shepherd-lover's dreams! If interested in Bean, I can put you in touch with the person at the kill shelter who is trying to save her and you can ask what you wish to know about this young, optimistic pooch who believes she's got her whole life before her, and about how you could meet her! Or you can contact Claire at the kill shelter directly at cell number (516) 652-9711. (She has a day-job so may not get back to you until after her work hours for the day.) This doggie (Claire calls her Indigo, btw) is at the Tift County kill shelter in Georgia, but if you live too far away to meet her in person and don't mind adopting her from afar, you can use the Southern transport service Save Them All (contact: Bill at (706) 944-5650), and they can bring her to your door wherever you live in the continental states (for a $150 fee). Remember that Queen Bean is sadly only one of the dozens and dozens of healthy dogs there (and older, unhealthier ones) facing extinction, so if Queen Bean turns out not to sound like The One for you, you could ask Claire to tell you about others. Thank you so much!.
