My Story

Age/Birthdate:05/31/2024 • Expected Weight: 70-80lbs estimate • Breed Guess: Catahoula Mix • Fully Vetted: No • Adopt fee: $500 Location: Crest Hill, IL Any Special Medical or Special Needs:Neuter Temperament with: Dogs:Great! Cats:Unsure Children list specific ages: Kids all ages Strangers:Great Training Needs:Everything Puppy Crate Trained:Yes Potty Trained:Working on it! Hi, I’m Ralph, a young Catahoula mix, and I’m here to bring fun and laughter to your life! I’m a playful, silly pup who loves running around with my siblings and foster family. After a good play session, I’m all about curling up for a cozy nap. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I think I’d get along just fine as long as they’re friendly! I absolutely love playing with toys and would be so excited to find my forever family to play, cuddle, and hang out with. Could that be you? She/He is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Unless the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will only consider applications that are within 1 hour or 40 miles of Lemont, IL. This is due to the required vetting at our partner veterinarians. If the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will allow adoptions out of state or outside of our 1 hour or 40 mile restriction. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within five days of approval. ADOPTION FEE: $xxx (includes spay/neuter must be done when the rescue schedules it at one of our partner vets, microchip, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease ) and a general wellness which includes dewormer, heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention) *Please understand that we will spay/neuter no younger than 16 weeks but it is the rescue's discretion when the dog will get that procedure. We know that some veterinarians recommend waiting depending on the breed's projected size but as a rescue, our goal is to prevent further unwanted, "accidental" litters. Spaying and neutering also have many benefits for cancer prevention and avoiding behavioral problems. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs as early as 8-16 weeks of age. We always assess and speak with our partner vets when is the best time to perform this procedure. Interested? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt
