My Story

Age/Birthdate:10/22/24 • Expected Weight:55-65lbs • Breed Guess:Lab Mix• Fully Vetted:No • Adopt fee: $600 Location:New Lenox,IL Any Special Medical or Special Needs: No Temperament with: Dogs:playful and sweet Cats:N/A Children list specific ages: All ages Good with all kids Strangers:Loves everyone Training Needs: Crate Trained: Working on it! Potty Trained:Working on it! Using potty pads. Hi, I’m Randy—a lovable black Lab puppy and the smallest (but mightiest!) of my litter, weighing in at just 7 lbs. Don’t let my size fool you—I’ve got a big heart full of love and playfulness! I’m great with all kids and adore meeting new people. I’ll greet everyone with my sweet, playful energy and instantly win them over. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs, and even though I’m the runt of the litter, I never let it get me down. Sometimes my siblings pick on me, but I love them all the same—that’s just the kind of sweetheart I am! I’m still learning my potty training skills, but I’m working hard and making great progress. I’m crate-trained and love treats, which makes me eager to learn and grow. Toys? Oh, I love them all, especially flavored puppy bones—they’re the best! My ideal forever home would be an active family with another sweet dog for me to play with and learn from. I’m all about playtime with people and pups, but when the fun’s over, I’m ready for cuddles and love. If you’re looking for a tiny ball of energy with a huge heart, I’m your guy. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together! She/He is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Unless the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will only consider applications that are within 1 hour or 40 miles of Lemont, IL. This is due to the required vetting at our partner veterinarians. If the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will allow adoptions out of state or outside of our 1 hour or 40 mile restriction. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within five days of approval. ADOPTION FEE: $600 (includes spay/neuter must be done when the rescue schedules it at one of our partner vets, microchip, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease ) and a general wellness which includes dewormer, heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention) *Please understand that we will spay/neuter no younger than 16 weeks but it is the rescue's discretion when the dog will get that procedure. We know that some veterinarians recommend waiting depending on the breed's projected size but as a rescue, our goal is to prevent further unwanted, "accidental" litters. Spaying and neutering also have many benefits for cancer prevention and avoiding behavioral problems. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs as early as 8-16 weeks of age. We always assess and speak with our partner vets when is the best time to perform this procedure. Interested? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt
