My Story

Ranger Rick came in as part of litter surrender. He spent about four weeks with one of our dedicated puppy fosters and is now back at the shelter and available for adoption. Here's what his foster mom has to say: "Ranger Rick loves to watch out the door to the outside world. He likes making and playing with animal friends. He's ok with cats. He tries to make friends, but he just has too much energy for them right now. He's learning how to be patient. He will sit and speak. He's very smart and seems like he would be a great working boy! He loves learning new things. He loves to use his voice and be outside and at your side. He pees on the puppy pads for the most part, but will potty outside as well. He will begin sniffing around before he needs to pee. He knows the word "outside". I have been crate training at bedtime and when I'm not home. He still has pee accidents in crate and he would prefer to sleep with you and not in the crate at all. He has almost mastered sit and wait! He can wait for food, but not treats." Ranger Rick is nervous around new people. He will bark and snap at them and will use his teeth to defend if he feels scared, so he will need patient people who will earn his trust and continue to give him positive socialization with new people and experiences.
