My Story

Raven is a stunning girl who is around 2 years old and weighs 50 pounds. She is super sweet and very friendly once she gets to know you. She can be shy at first which is perhaps due to some trauma in her past. Even though Raven is a young Lab, she doesn’t have crazy energy. She enjoys daily walks and could be a good running partner. Raven is also very content cuddling on the couch. Raven is house trained, and crate trained. She does stay in her crate when left alone. Raven loves toys and will entertain herself for long stretches of time. Stuffy toys may be at risk of being chewed but overall, she is pretty good about her chewing habits. She does need supervision so that she doesn’t chew something inappropriate. Raven has been wonderful with all the dogs in her foster home. She would do well with another active dog to play with and gain confidence from. Her foster home has cats, and Raven is fine with them. It should be noted that these cats are dog savvy. Raven would love a cat friend to play with! Raven did have some past trauma in her life before rescue. She had a large wound on the back of her neck and had a bullet in her shoulder that was removed during her spay surgery. Raven is very sensitive and any sort of sudden movements or loud noise will send her running. She is friendly with children and her finder had a toddler she was good with. But it would depend on the personality of the children and how energetic and loud they tended to be. Barking is not an issue with Raven! Occasionally she will bark if she is nervous about something, or a new person pulls up to the house. Ninety percent of the time she walks perfectly on a leash; she won’t pull and is very polite. Randomly she will flip around and try to grab the leash in her mouth. If told to “drop it” she will. Just something to be aware of. This has improved over time! Raven will be a great fit in an active home with a family. She would love it if there was another dog to help entertain her. Raven enjoys being active with her people as well and will want daily walks and lots of love. You will be lucky if you get the chance to add this beautiful girl to your home!
