My Story

Meet Red, a ten month old Pitbull Terrier/Terrier mix weighing around 40 pounds. Red was found as a stray at a Dollar Tree but when the finder brought her home they discovered their dogs weren't too fond of him. They describe him as energetic and loving. They said he was good with their cats, dogs and chickens but we aren't sure if the chickens were free range or behind a fence. Red is a very outgoing boy who wants to say hi to everyone. He is athletic and working on the command "off". This boy is very enthusiastic about everything to do with life and he can't wait to start on his next adventure with you! This pet is available for adoption on 1/22/2025 at 3:45 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works. Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/ Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.
