REINA
*House-trained
*Crate-trained
*Calm, friendly, and easy-going with other dogs and people
*Natural and easy on a leash
Reina is estimated to be 1 ½-2 years old and is 48 lbs.
Although we did not locate her pageant sash during her rescue, Reina is clearly a natural beauty queen. Her gorgeous brindle and gray fur coat is soft and fluffy…and then you glimpse her tail. She swishes her beautiful tail when she is walking as her happy little face leads the way. This pup is friendly, happy, sweet, and so grateful to be in a home. She was posted for rescue or adoption at the shelter on 11/12/24 with her sister. Her sister was adopted and Reina was left behind for an uncertain fate. Reina was rescued from Henry County Animal Control on 12/18/24, days before she was listed on the euthanasia list. So many volunteers worked hard to save her at You Lucky Dog Rescue and Henry County Animal Shelter.
Reina walks happily on a leash with her foster parents, with or without other dogs. Nothing seems to faze her, as she is just so pleased to be included in any events that are happening with her foster family. She doesn’t demand attention but rather is content to sleep across anyone’s feet during football or movie night. She is curious and easy-going on a leash and will settle on a dog bed following an outing. She will chew on a hard bone or soft toy for a bit although she prefers to receive belly rubs and reassuring pets.
Reina lives in a foster home that includes her foster mom and dad, college-aged human brother and sister, 4 dogs (males and female), and 2 cats. Reina had spay surgery on 12/16/24 and her spay site is fully healed. She does not have free-roam of the house but she has socialized with all of her foster home’s pack and other foster dog. She has been polite and submissive. She has not yet been introduced to the cats.
Reina appreciates the routine she is following, with predictable meal times and potty breaks. She has one foster parent who works from home, so she is content sleeping on a bed during work time. She hasn’t had any accidents in her crate or in the house in the 10 days they have had her. She also does not protest, bark, or whine when she is crated at night or when her foster parents leave the house to run errands. Reina is not food aggressive and does not resource guard - she will allow you to take food or toys/bones away from her without any problems. She currently eats her meals outside her crate.
Reina is pretty dreamy and will do well as a part of a new family’s pack. She is easy-going, sweet and is low-medium energy. Reina is very trusting and offers her paw during belly rubs and head scratches. She is so friendly and is trying to make sure she shows her gratitude to everyone she meets. We are looking for a family to treasure beautiful Reina and to show her that she will never set foot in a shelter ever again. If you are looking for an amazing dog, you better apply quickly!
For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email
[email protected] for additional details that are not included in this biography.
PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.
The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.
We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
