My Story

Animal Profile: Remy is an adorable terrier/chihuahua mix (best guess) who is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 12 lbs. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in CA, and is now safe with us in foster care in Seattle. Doesn't he have the cutest little underbite? Foster Update: We've been fostering Remy for two weeks now and he's really coming out of his shell. It's pretty cute seeing his personality start to show -- hoarder of all the toys, sock stealer extraordinaire, super smart and very treat motivated. We took our first walk this weekend around the neighborhood and he did pretty well! He's got crate training down easy peasy and uses the doggy door to take himself outside to go potty! He loves running around in the yard playing fetch with toys. He's still a bit apprehensive, especially around my husband, but he LOVES all the pets when he overcomes his initial shyness. Every day we're seeing him become more and more confident. Having Hazel, the resident dog, around has really helped, ad I think he'd be best with another dog in his adoptive home. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
