My Story

Adoption Event Schedule Events run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM every month at these locations: 2nd Saturday, Sacramento - Pet Food Express 3rd Saturday, Modesto - PetSmart 4th Saturday, Roseville - Pet Food Express Please visit the GCGSR Rescue Page for specific address information. Adoption fee $350 Renee is a 3-month-old female that was dumped at a rescuer's house with her mom and sisters. We know nothing of her history. She is a sweet, but timid, girl. She is unsure of most new things, and takes a little time to become comfortable. She will not investigate on her own, but prefers to have you lead the way to ensure it's "safe". She does best with soft, easy corrections when necessary, and exuberant praise after a deed well done. She loves figuring out what is expected of her & following through to get your approval, especially with yummy treats involved. Renee adores cuddle time on the floor where she can crawl into your lap, and belly scratches are always appreciated! She has a favorite bed that is her place to chew a toy or relax. She gets along well with the other dogs in the home and ignores the cats most of the time. She spends alone time in her crate or in the backyard, where she quietly waits until it's time to come back inside and play. She is looking for a home with a big brother to show her how to be a confident dog. You will need patience and a soft spirit to encourage her, but will be rewarded with a sweet, loving girl that looks to you for direction. Cats and small critters unknown. Renee is a level 2 dog. Understanding Dog Levels Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires. Go to our home page for an explanation of the Dog Rating Levels. (https://www.gcgsr.org/dogs.html#levels) Additional Adoption Information For more information and to see when this dog will be attending an Adoption Day, please see our Dogs page on our main website. (https://www.gcgsr.org/adopt_info.html) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state. Puppy Requirements We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies. Please see our Requirements for Adopting a Puppy (https://www.gcgsr.org/puppies.html) email us at [email protected] for more information. Thank you for visiting!
