Weight: about 15# Sex: neutered male Age: about 5 years old Background: Richard was found by a good Samaritan near their work, they never found his owner and couldn't keep him. He came in with a bad attitude and ready to take on the world. We have found out he had some tick borne illnesses that could have been contributing to his lashing out from pain, and he also needed to acclimate to regular dog life in a home instead of being a street dog like he was used to. He has been making huge progress but he still has some buttons he doesn't like to be pushed. Current Description:Hello! I'm Richard, a 5ish year old terrier mix. I'm little at around 15lbs but have a big personality. I am a very active boy and need a human who will take me on at least one adventure daily. My favorite hobbies are going on walks, swimming laps, and chewing hard toys. Some things I've been working on in my foster home include tricks, basic commands, and house training which will all require further training. I also need a human who will continue my training regarding the guarding behaviors I've learned while waiting to be found by the rescue. I'm nervous with new humans but with some time I open up to be the rambunctious Velcro dog I'm meant to be. Type of home they would need now: a dedicated family that will take Richard on walks and who will be committed to keeping rules and boundaries in place for him. He lives with female dogs and comes to playgroup but he does dislike some intact male dogs.
