My Story

Meet Rosemary, an eleven year old Pekingese/Yorkie mix. Rosemary was dumped by someone in a kennel in the greenway parking lot. When she came to us she was in rough shape, bleeding when she pooped and even when she wasn't pooping. We ran multiple tests but everything was coming up negative so we sent her to our clinic where we discovered multiple rocks in her stomach. We aren't sure if she ate them because she was hungry or didn't realize they were in her food or maybe she just likes eating rocks when bored, but we recommend watching her around rocks to make sure this was a one-time thing. Rosemary has limited teeth, or maybe no teeth so she is currently eating canned food. She has the cutest little bobbed tail and is very happy. This easy-going girl is very go-with-the-flow and walks well on her leash. She is feeling like a new girl ready to start a new life! This pet is available for adoption on 12/3/2024 at 2:28 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works. Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/ Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at [email protected].
