My Story

Courtesy Posting: SAN DIEGO, CA (SO CAL) - APPROX 1 YR FEMALE CHOW “ROSIE” IN NEED OF A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE HOME, IDEALLY W/ CHOW EXPERIENCE- PEOPLE AND DOG FRIENDLY, BUT SHY Please help us find a loving, responsible home for beautiful Rosie after she and her siblings were found dumped in the La Mesa area. Although posts were made, no owner ever came forward, and a good Samaritan took them in temporarily. The dogs have recently been vaccinated and will be spayed as a condition of their adoption. Rosie gets along with her female siblings and is described as quite loving once she gets to know you. However, until she feels comfortable, she and her siblings can be skittish at first, common with the chow breed. Rosie is the shyest of the three girls. While she and her siblings have done pretty well with the temporary home’s other dogs, and kids, if you have another pet, a meet and greet is strongly recommended. Currently, Rosie and her siblings are trained to go on pee pads inside, but also go potty outside. We would like to see any new home keep her as an indoor pet, but be able to take her on more regular walks, and continue with socialization. There are no reported bites or medical issues though. If you are interested in applying for Rosie, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is assisting with their placement. Chow experience is preferred. Sorry, we do not do transport to private homes unless a rescue is involved due to risks of a home or dog not working out for any reason. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual), an application, a vet reference and an adoption contract. A $150 donation to a chow rescue is requested. Her siblings are also available to adopt and posted separately.
