My Story

Meet Sally oMally, I personally did not ask her if she is actually Irish. Lets see if her luck can help her find that perfect home she has been dreaming of. Her cute face an perfect pink nose are what got my attention but getting to know the fun-loving side of her was what won me over. She is somehow both playful and sociable while being easy-going. Estimated to be 2 years old and weighing 43 lbs, she is a perfect medium size girl with the growing maturity of a dog who has left her puppy and teen years behind. Her foster family has shared that she is a smart dog who has transitioned to their home and routine with ease. She currently lives with two other dog but gravitates towards the male most. She definitely enjoys playtime but prefers a more relaxed approach, you know the ones, a little game of chase followed by a long rest. As for her tolerance, this girl is no delicate flower, from being a bit man-handled by a member of the behavior team to meeting a very rough and tumble bully boy dog, she took it all in stride. There were more than a few moments with pushy, rough and rowdy play moments that her steady temperament really shined! A playmate that knows the value of breaks will be key to a perfect playmate pairing. Sallys ideal home would include a yard or space to play freely with a playmate if she was joining a family with a dog. Currently her leash skills need a little polishing, mostly because she is not frequently walked given she gets plenty of exercise in the backyard with her doggie playmate. With practice, a handful of treats and a touch of patience, she will be a dream walking-buddy! She truly loves to explore and is so happy wandering the yard on her own, easily entertained by the simple things. A family that enjoys hanging in the yard, walks and weekend hikes would be in great company with Sally! The one no for Sally is cats. When meeting our house cat she was curiously respectful but it was clear that she was excited and would likely attempt to chase a house cat in the name of a good time for her, and what we know would be a bad time for the cat. Thanks to the fact that Sally is waiting out her adoption day in a loving foster home, she comes pre-loaded with so many amazing basic skills. First off, she knows a few basic commands, sit, down, go-to-bed (crate), load up and likely a few more I havent seen. Plus, she is fully house and crate trained! Honestly, thats what I should have led with, we all love a dog with some home-know-how! Second to that for me personally was how easily she loads up into the car, basically if you get the door she can take it from there. Adventures feel so much more appealing when loading the dog up isnt a chore. She is going to be a fantastic companion! Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog youve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dogs needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesnt stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
