My Story

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14097 **$100 off of adoption fee in December!** Meet Precious Sandi Name: Sandi Gender: Female Breed: Mixed Age: 6 months old Weight: 40 lbs (estimated 55-65 lbs full-grown) Current Location: Reisterstown, MD About Sandi Sandi is a mixed-breed pup with a sweet personality, ready to give her forever family all her love and loyalty. At 40 lbs., shes a gentle and timid girl learning to trust and adjust to indoor life. While shes shy around new people and environments, Sandi is full of potential and waiting for a family to help her grow into the confident companion shes meant to be. Personality Sandi is a loving and quiet pup who needs time to feel comfortable in new settings. She thrives in a safe, fenced yard where she transforms into a playful and energetic dog, happily chasing tennis balls and taking treats from her people. Indoors, she seeks out quiet spaces and prefers the comfort of her safe spot. Shes still building her confidence but is eager to bond with her family. Energy Level Sandi has bursts of playful energy when outside but is calm and reserved indoors. She enjoys a good run in the yard, followed by quiet time in her favorite spot. Skills and Training - Sandi sleeps soundly in her crate and holds through the night. - Shes had no accidents indoors and consistently goes to the bathroom outside. - Sandi is still adjusting to the leash and will need patient guidance to help her gain confidence. Companionship Sandi would do best in a quiet home with a secure fenced yard where she can safely explore and play. She enjoys playing with other dogs, and may enjoy the company of a calm and patient canine companion to help teach her how to be the best girl she can be. Love and Affection Although shy at first, Sandi warms up with time and patience. She enjoys gentle affection and will lean into attention once she feels safe. Her bond with her family will deepen as she continues to gain confidence. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
