My Story

PLEASE READ THE COMPLETE BIO AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: https://www.bullmastiffrescuers.net/forms.html BEFORE CONTACTING US. WE DO NOT RESPOND TO INQUIRIES UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED AN APPLICATION. Scarlett is ready for her Tara. It doesn’t need to be a Georgia mansion, but, frankly, we do give a damn where she lives tomorrow. We want her to have a fenced yard to play in, people to love and spoil her, and where she can reign as the bell of the ball. Like Scarlett O’Hara, our Scarlett loves to be in the center of the activities. Scarlett is extremely sweet and just wants affection and to be near her people. When she came to rescue, like Scarlett O’Hara, she was not accustomed to being told no. So, we had some training to do, and we found that Scarlett learns quickly. Scarlett has bursts of energy and zoomies but after playtime, she calms down and is content by your side. She walks well on a leash but when she does meet another dog or new people she goes into “I must see them right now so we can play” mode. This is getting better, and she is learning that if she sits calmly and quietly, she will get rewarded for behaving well. Her adopter must commit to continue with training in this area. Scarlett is no debutant wall flower when it comes to playing with other dogs. She is rough and tumble in her play style and not afraid to get her petticoat dirty. Her previous owners frequented dog parks with her and allowed her to play roughly so this behavior is deeply ingrained, however, she is learning to take correction well from other dogs when they’ve had enough of her antics. Any resident dogs in her adoptive home will need to be accepting of her play style. A confident large, male dog would be a good companion for Scarlett. Scarlett is 2.5 years old, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and microchipped. She did require surgery to repair cruciate tears in her knees which she has fully recovered from. If your family would like to provide Scarlett with her Tara, please complete the adoption application at https://www.bullmastiffrescuers.net/forms.html You can complete an online version or download the application in Word. We require a donation ranging from $100 to $600 for each adoption. The donation is based on the age and health of the dog being adopted as well as its level of training. 100% of donations are directed to the veterinary expenses of the dogs in our care. Scarlett is being fostered in Tennessee; however, don’t let location be a barrier, BRI can arrange transport to many states east of the Mississippi!
