My Story

Location: Minneapolis, MN Hello! This sweet girl with the most adorable one up and one floppy ear is Sephora (a.k.a. "Sophie"). Sophie has been a bit timid with me, but I can't blame her because she has been shuffled around a lot in her first 1.5 years of life. She first came from a reservation at ~1 y.o. (has scarring on her nose, maybe some fending for herself?) and then most recently was surrendered to the Rescue, after adoption half a year ago, due to a family emergency - no fault of her own. Despite all her adversity, she is very loving towards people and kids and seeks affection, cuddles, and pets / belly rubs. Sephora/Sophie is house and crate trained! She is also quite the chill dog - will snuggle up next to you or find a comfy spot to nap most of the day on her own. However, she doesn't mind walks or playing with some toys too! Sophie also walks incredibly well on a leash (typically leaves some slack) and has not barked once (not even at barking, passing dogs). She knows 'sit' and is working on the other commands. Sophie also sits still for bathes and nail clippings (it's the best!). No destructive behavior either. I was informed she will need slow introductions with other dogs, but she has not shown any signs of aggression with me so I suspect this will go well with some patience. Good with cats. I think she would make the most incredible family dog, either gaining more confidence with another respectful dog sibling or thriving on her own! My hope is that she will find her final, forever home where she can be spoiled and adored for the rest of her life because she's such a sweetheart! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
