Meet Shadow!
Shadow is a 1.5-year-old, 70lb sweetheart who we believe is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix. This playful girl loves zooming around our play yard and gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats!
Shadow's past is a heartbreaking story. For those of you who remember our sorely abused Pomeranian mix, Asha, Shadow came from the same home. Asha was a pup who was caught on video being heavily abused and beaten by her owners before she was surrendered into rescue. Shadow was one of Asha’s doggy siblings who were unable to be removed from the home at the time. While we can't say for sure what Shadow endured in her previous home, what we do know is that Shadow was exploited as a way for her previous owners to make money. Her previous owners used her supposed medical issues—like hip dysplasia, broken limbs, and seizures—to scam for donations for vet care that she never received.
However, after a thorough check-up by our vet, Shadow is showing no signs of the ailments claimed by her past owners. She has not had any seizures in the past couple of weeks after leaving her previous home. Her health is looking great.
Shadow deserves a fresh start and a loving forever home where she can thrive. She’s an amazing, friendly, and playful girl who will bring joy to any family. She’ll continue to receive veterinary care to ensure she’s ready for adoption, and we’re confident she’s going to make a wonderful companion.
