Sharbi

Sharbi is 8 years old and weighs 61 lbs. She is a gentle, sweet senior who gets along with other dogs, cats and children. Sharbi could hear at one time but is now permanently deaf due to untreated ear infections in the past. She is lower energy, cuddly and will be your best friend in no time. Sharbi is a very layed back and calm girl. Her perfect day is snuggling with you on the couch, or sleeping on a dog bed. She currently goes to work with her foster Mom, and sleeps most of day. She does like going for walks, and does perfectly on leash. She "doddles" a bit as she likes to take her time and smell lots of things along the way, so she's more of a "stroller" than a running buddy. Sharbi does well with other calm dogs, and would do well in a home with or without another dog. Her foster home also has a cat, which she does okay with. Due her likely breed mix (Husky/Shepherd Mix) she does sometimes like to herd the animals in her foster home, but she also respects everyone's boundaries. She is just starting to learn about toys, and chews, and sometimes she channels her "inner puppy" for a few minutes and it's wonderful to see her starting to learn about life in a home. She is very affectionate and likes everyone she meets. She's a sweet and loving dog. We are working on hand signals to celebrate her successes, and she's starting to understand cues for sit and stay. She navigates the world just fine without her hearing, and very little bothers her. Sharbi is house-trained (pay attention to her cues), though she's not a big fan of being in a crate. She is left for periods alone in her foster home without being crated, and does well as long she cannot reach anything on the counter.
