My Story

Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal is the only licensed senior dog rescue organization in Western Pennsylvania. We do not have a shelter or a public facility. ALL of our dogs reside in foster homes in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Please respect our volunteers' time. If a dog is listed on PetFinder, he/she IS available for adoption. We cannot reply to messages, phone calls, and emails about a dog until we have received, reviewed, and approved an adoption application. Our ADOPTION application is found at www.seniorhearts.org/how-to-adopt Completing this application is the first step in our adoption screening process. You MUST complete the application in its entirety in order to be considered as a potential adopter. Please select "More About Us" for further details on our adoption requirements. You can meet a dog ONLY after we have completed our adoption approval process. We look forward to receiving your application in hopes that you are able to meet our adoption requirements and provide this dog with a loving furever home. And now a few words from Skittles: I am 10 years young and weigh about 4 pounds. I am so small I could fit in your purse and go everywhere with you. Sounds like fun! I'm a little guy who super enjoys sunbathing, short walks, pets, and my soft treats after going potty and when I do something outstanding. Car rides are also one of my favorite things to do. I'm a friendly little dude who is quiet and independent but does not mind attention from my humans. When visitors stop at the house I give them a few welcome barks but then I settle down and am my quiet self. I have good manners. I am housetrained. I get along with smaller dogs so a sibling or two would not be a bad thing. I am also okay with being an only furry child. Mostly importantly, I need a cozy bed and lots of blankets. I can be adopted into an adult-only home within a two-hour radius of Pittsburgh, PA. If you are interested in giving me a furever home, you must first complete the adoption application at www.seniorhearts.org/how-to-adopt xoxo, Skittles
