Born in mid-August, Skittles’ journey has been nothing short of remarkable. After a heartbreaking incident where two mother dogs were intentionally poisoned after giving birth to 16 puppies, only one mama survived, though she was too sick to nurse. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of several rescues, all of the puppies and the surviving mama were saved and nursed back to health. Skittles is one of those spirited survivors, and she’s ready to bring joy to her forever family! As a super playful pup, Skittles is full of energy and loves to explore her surroundings. Whether she’s chasing after toys, frolicking in the yard, or investigating every nook and cranny, her adventurous spirit shines through. But don’t let her playful antics fool you—this little girl is also always down for snuggles! After a fun-filled play session, she loves curling up with her humans for some cozy cuddle time. Currently thriving in her foster home in Fort Collins, CO, Skittles is eager to find a family that appreciates her playful nature and loving heart. OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Colorado. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.) or in person if a local adoption. Our adoption fee is $350, plus transport (varies by location) if animal needs to be transported out of state. This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of departure for out of state adoptions. All animals adopted in Colorado must be spay/neutered or have a letter or exemption provided by a vet. This can be discussed with the foster during the interview process.
