My Story

(DOB 5/20/2024). Due to Skye's young age, she has not yet been spayed. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC). First and foremost, Skye will need a home with at least one PLAYFUL dog. A dog young and patient enough to want to be a fun and gentle playmate for her as well as a good doggie-role model. Puppies naturally learn from other dogs and build confidence, bite inhibition and boundaries from their older doggie siblings. Skye is the smallest of her four litter mates and the only female, so we think that makes her like a little princess. Her older brothers pick on her, but she is always very playful with them. Skye likes to play with squeaky toys and chew on bonesso make sure to have a vareity of age appropriate activities to keep Skye happy, engaged and having fun! After a good amount of playtime, she loves human attention and wants to be snuggled any chance she gets. If you have the time and energy for a brand-new puppy which includes positive and lots of different adventures and activities to start their young development, ready for adolescent behavior, and want to help cute Skye to grow into a well-behaved adult dog, then let's chat! Puppies need a lot of time attention, so someone who is at home the majority of the day is needed. No 8+ hour work or school days away from home. They need lots of potty breaks to quickly work on proper potty training. She is at the pee, poop, play, eat and sleep routine of life. Plus, it is already a great time to begin basic manners. They are sponges and their little brains are growing rapidly at this age. We encourage LOTS of activities outside of the home. The more places, people and things young Skye is introduce to early on the better her socialization skills become. Positive reinforcement puppy classes are a great opportunity as well. At her young age she in not yet poppy trained and will need someone home the majority of the time. She will need someone who will have time to take her out on regular intervals to build a routine for her success in potty training. In addition, puppies need lots of interaction and being alone for hours on end is not a good start for her young years. If there are children in the home, they should be a little older, as Skye is still teething and everything still goes in her mouth (just like young children) and her super sharp baby teeth may end up grabbing little tykes fingers and toes. Ready, willing, able; then so is Skye! As part of Skye's $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.
