My Story

Sniff A167820 40 lb. Neutered Male, approx 11 months old - Playful boy - Loves stuffies! - Enjoys pets and giving kisses. - Takes treats nicely but spits them out or plays with them. - Walks well on a leash. - Will need puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be! - May do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros. Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids. Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. 1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
