My Story

Age: 7 Years Weight: 13lbs Good with dogs? Yes- only calmer/older dogs Good with cats? Unknown Good with kids? No Young Kids Energy Level: Low Adoption Fee: $200.00 Any other info: Meet Soy- a sweet senior terrier mix who has faced her share of challenges and is now in desperate need of a calm and loving home. This gentle tricolored beauty came to the shelter frightened and with a broken hip. After a thorough check-up by a specialist, it was determined that her hip injury has been present for a while and that surgery would likely cause her more pain and complications. Despite her shy and nervous demeanor, Soy's sweetness shines through. She finds comfort in the little things, like tasty treats and being wrapped up in her favorite blankets. These blankets serve as her emotional support, providing her with a sense of security and warmth. They go everywhere she goes. Soy urgently needs a home where she can decompress and receive the care she deserves. A quiet environment without young children and low activity is ideal for her, as she needs to avoid any further stress or potential pain. While she may enjoy the company of other dogs, it's important that she isn't encouraged to romp and play just yet. We need to assess her pain in a home and see if it's just the scary shelter environment making her less active. Soy is around 7 years old and has the sweetest eyes and impressive ears. She is spayed, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, kept on prevention here with us, and on some pain medications to help with her hip. If you have a calm, loving home and the patience to help Soy assess her pain and mobility, she will reward you with her gentle presence and unwavering gratitude. This precious senior deserves a chance to experience the comfort and care of a forever home. Are you the compassionate and understanding home that Soy has been waiting for?
