SPIKE Attributes Housetrained Crate-Trained Dog Friendly Good on Car Rides Shy Playful Requires a Fence Good with Kids - over 4 Snuggly Hi folks, I'm Spike, the cutest little beagle boy! I'm all of 24 lbs. and approximately 2 years old so I will stay little. Many people love my red freckles. My traits are that I'm very sweet and will learn anything for a treat. I love a good rub behind the ears – it makes me melt. I'm young and playful with toys on my own or playing tug with the other dogs in the house. I can romp and wrestle with them too! It would be nice to have a dog to play with me. I also know fetch but it is too cold to play outside. My leash manners are very good – I do not pull, but my nose loves a good smell. My overall energy during playtime is high, then I will settle down later in the day or when placed in my crate. At night I sleep in a crate by my foster and sleep all night. I am housetrained (keep me on a schedule) and I can be left in a crate if you should have to leave. My foster gives me a bone with some peanut butter – yum. Since I'm still young I have a little chewing tendency but I'm easily re-directed to a fun toy. I LOVE food/treats so I eat super-fast and need a slow- bowl. I may also grab my treats so I am learning to sit and be patient. My favorite toys are the squeaky ones!! My musical talent is beyond compare. My foster mom likes to pick me up for a hug and I will give her kisses in return for training me with treats and giving me lots of toys. Because I am still timid around new people and new places, my mom takes me out to the store every few days where the store people give me treats! I came from a shelter in Ohio where I was kept in an outdoor kennel in January – I'm looking for that warm house full of love for a cute little beagle guy.
