My Story

Adoptable Sunny! Sunny came to Bridge Between unexpectedly when we saw her in the back of the shelter with a fractured leg. Despite the pain she had to be in, she was SO sweet and wore the biggest smile - hence the name "Sunny"! This yellow girl is a hound / hound mix and is likely about 2 years old. She is full grown at 44 pounds. Sunny has undergone surgery to repair her leg fracture and has been healing beautifully these last few months. She moved to a new foster when she came off of crate rest and she has been thriving with a more "normal" routine! Here are some notes from her foster: "Sunny is exactly as described - a delightful, happy ray of sunshine. This girl is wonderful to have. She loves to cuddle, play with her toys, go for walks, and see other dogs! She is very friendly with her foster siblings. Sunny is crate-trained and does well in her crate. She may whine a bit at first but once she settles into her routine, she's completely fine! She would thrive even more with some basic obedience training. She loves leash walks but is a strong walker, and also has the habit of jumping up for "hugs". She may do better in a home without small kids that she could knock over. Sunny loves to play, but surprisingly sleeps for the majority of the day and is overall pretty low maintenance for her age!" Sunny goes on a long walk daily to help build strength in her leg, and she is getting better by the day. She has two more weeks until her final recheck before she is cleared for normal exercise. The doctors do not expect her to have any major issues with her leg in the future. She would likely benefit from supplements that build bone strength and help with inflammation as she gets older. Sunny is spayed, up to date on prevention and vaccination, and microchipped.
