My Story

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS PET PLEASE SUBMIT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION VIA OUR WEBSITE: WWW.TAILSOFHOPEDOGRESCUE.COM The adoption cost is $200.00 Meet Sylvie! She, along with many others, were rescued from a puppy mill in Mississippi. She looks to be a Poodle, may be a mix with Maltese ( ?). She weighs 5.6 pounds, is about 2 years old, has been spayed, fully vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and is microchipped. She is also current on heartworm and flea prevention. Since she is a mill baby she 100% MUST go to a home with another established dog. Mill dogs need another dog for security, guidance, company and basically to continue to teach them how to be a dog. ALL these mill dogs know are other dogs. That is their comfort zone. She will need time to warm up to you and trust you, and once that happens she will; be like a velcro dog. She must have a home with a VERY securely fenced yard. She loves the freedom to run and play outside, something that had previously been denied to her when she was living in a dark building in a cage with a wire floor. She would not do well in a home without a yard because of that and the fact she is still getting used to leash/harness walking. As for potty training: she will need to go out to potty every few hours: she is small. She is crate trained, and still likes to sleep and eat in her kennel. Since she is so tiny a home with very young children ( under 5 ) will not work, and larger dogs are fine as long as they are gentle. Her current foster home has a very large dog that Sylvie LOVES to snuggle with ( see pic) . Sylvie is in Memphis
