I’m an adorable Australian shepherd/border collie mix and check all the boxes! Best guess is I’m about 4-5 years old. I am quiet, affectionate, and friendly with people, house trained, entertaining, and eager to please. I’m healthy and up-to-date with a recent dental cleaning and all my vaccines. My DNA test resulted in zero genetic defects and I have been professionally trained. I am mostly Australian shepherd with a bit of border collie, medium in size, and am a rare dark chocolate brown with a white chest and underbelly, tan feathers and four white paws. Many admirers comment I am a beautiful dog! Due to my owner’s recent health issues, I would really like to find a new home and a securely fenced yard would make life a lot better for me and my new family. Needless to say, an active adopter would be a great fit ‘cause I really like go on long walks or hikes. If you run, I’ll be right by your side! But don’t get the wrong idea – I know how to chill in the house giving snuggles and getting tummy rubs. People comment all the time how well behaved I am and I have never had even one potty accident inside. I’m a good boy! Like most adult dogs, Taki is selective about his dog friends and does fine with dogs who are more laid back. Especially important is I need an adopter who has experience with my breed or a similar breed. As you know, we herding breeds are quite the athletes with unique needs and we really don’t want an adopter who will be surprised by and unprepared for all that entails, like following you around the house and helping you cook. No doubt, general admiration for my breed and my dazzling looks will attract a lot of adoption applications. Taki has been professionally trained by the Olde Town School for Dogs in Alexandria, Virginia and is a graduate of their Day School Program. He responds to many commands including off-leash recall. He is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and is currently on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
