Tamarindo

Here's what my friends at the shelter have to say about me!: "I'm a sucker for a big, sweet velcro boy and wow is that Tamarindo. He first caught my eye because I was looking for a male dog to do a temp test and this good boy was just sitting calmly and quietly in his kennel while all the dogs around him barked. When he saw me stop at him, he slowly got up, stretched, and started wagging his tail. I'm shocked that this handsome boy is only listed as 57 lbs because he is BIG. He's so tall it almost makes me think that he's a lab/great dane mix and his head is also way bigger than just a lab. He was great on a leash and in the run he was the perfect mix of excited energy and cuddly stage 5 clinger. Tamarindo was definitely treat motivated but more importantly he just seemed super eager to please me. Within minutes it was clear that he absolutely adored me and well, the feeling was mutual. I think he had declared me his shelter mom because he would melt into my arms and just wanted me to hug and kiss him as much as possible. I tried introducing him to a dog at the fenceline but I think he mostly just went there to follow me. We did several temp tests with him and I don't think he cared at all about the other dogs, he just wanted human attention. There was even a point where I think he forgot the other dog was there and just walked right into the short, squatty pittie girl we were testing him with. He's definitely potty trained because he was very embarrassed that he was having some potty issues (probably stress from the shelter environment) and peed and pooped in the run for FOREVER. But it shows he was definitely holding it for a while and was refusing to go in his kennel which is a great sign! He's got such an easygoing personality and perfect shelter notes, so l have no doubt that he's going to be the bestest boy in a home outside of the shelter. Tamarindo would really really like to find his human who can be his person forever, he has SO much love to give"
