Adopted
Breed
Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever & Golden Retriever Mix
Laidback Tanner Boy! Tanner is a chill and relaxed approximately 1.5-year-old, 62-pound golden retriever mix. He is red bi colored with a full fluff tail that curls like a curly fry! He has beautiful fur and the cutest frickley smile. But Tanner is more than good looks. Tanner has great qualities, including being smart, friendly, and a great companion.
Tanner is coming around to being more social and interacting with humans. He loves to get his pets and feel reassured that he is loved. If Tanner could, he would spend his days being a lazy couch potato. Though he will happily go on a walk with some good motivation.
If there is another playful pup around, Tanner might join in on the fun. Otherwise he doesn't mind laying around and watching the other dogs play. He has recently shown an interest in going on hikes. He loves exploring the outdoors and using his nose!
Tanner, of course, has some 'pup in progress' areas. Fortunately, he takes his cue from his person and responds well to direction. At first he needed his own space to eat as he never knew what sharing meant. Tanner has come a long ways and is doing much better with sharing. He will sometimes run to his crate while we make his food. He has good house manners, he stays out freely in the house when we are gone and has never got into anything. Though if he had to go in a crate, he would have no problem doing so. In fact, Tanner sometimes goes in there on his own.
Tanner has very nice recall, potty trained, crate trained and knows ‘sit’ & ‘shake’. He has been friendly with all dogs, cats and children.
Both active and laidback folks who love a fluffy companion would be a perfect match for Tanner. He is the dog for someone who sees a pup as a family member to bring along and hang out with. Tanner’s person would make him a perfect weekend adventure partner.
What is Tanner seeking in his Forever Home?
-Tanner's person(s) should be active and willing to bring him on walks
-They see continued training and a lifetime of engaging their dog as a natural part of having a canine family member.
-Tanner prefers a fence, but it may not be necessary for the right active, experienced home. Tanner would welcome another dog or furry pet in his home.
