My Story

Welp. Tatiana broke our hearts. We’ve seen a lot of cruelty, but it never gets any easier. What crushed us most was how Tatiana was still seeking love and comfort, trying so hard to trust us. But sometimes she couldn’t help but crouch down and cower. She came in covered in fleas, with irritated skin and ears and looks old but cruelty can do that to a dog. All she wanted was to give us kisses, nibble on a few treats, and come back for reassurance. Tatiana is the sweetest girl, and like so many who pass through our shelter, she deserves a fresh start. One filled with nothing but love and compassion. Came in as a cruelty confiscate on 8/30/24. Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL Email [email protected] for more information. The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
