My Story

Teddy is a 4-to-6-year-old, 9-pound male neutered Toy Poodle! Teddy is a goofy, energetic, and sweet pup who's always ready to brighten your day. He has adjusted very well to life in the city. Teddy enjoys food, zoomies, and snuggling up in fluffy blanketshis favorite cozy pastime! Teddy is suspected to have caudal occipital malformation syndrome (COMS) and experienced some back pain/discomfort. However, he has significantly improved with simple daily medications. While his back legs occasionally get wobbly, this rarely slows him downhe acts like a playful puppy most of the time and has plenty of energy to spare! During his time with his foster family, Teddy is still working on housetraining. He currently uses wee-wee pads about 70% of the time, and his foster family has been helping him improve with positive reinforcement and consistency. With patience and ongoing guidance, Teddy is sure to continue making progress. When it comes to leash skills, Teddy is a work in progress. He acts like a playful puppy on walks, getting easily distracted by everything around him. His foster family is helping him learn boundaries and focus during walks, and his forever family will need to continue working with him to help him improve. Teddy has done well in his crate during the day and settles comfortably when left alone. He doesn't show signs of separation anxiety and is happy to snooze until you're back home. Teddy loves spending time with his foster family and can often be found curled up with his favorite stuffed animal. Teddy is looking for an active family that can keep up with his playful energy while understanding and managing his medical needs. He would thrive in a home as a solo dog or with another friendly dog to keep him company. We would recommend Teddy go to a home with older children who can match his energy and give him the attention he loves. Teddy is vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Teddy, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: [email protected]
