My Story

Hi, meet Teddy, an affectionate, adorable, playful Bichon-Pomeranian blend! At four years old and 12 pounds, he is searching for a dog-savvy family with another small playful dog. A single-family home and fenced yard would seal the deal! General Behavior: Teddy is a social butterfly who loves to play with his people and his toys. He is a true extrovert outgoing and friendly, always up for an adventure, but snuggles on the couch are just as welcome. Likes & Dislikes: This boy just loves his toys - the more, the better! He is very active and enjoys daily zoomies in the house or outdoors. Teddy loves lying in the sum in a securely fenced yard or birdcage. He's food-motivated, which helps with training. Teddy likes car rides but MUST be properly restrained for his and the driver's driver's safety as he gets overly excited. He is very people-oriented and prefers not to be alone for long periods. Training: Teddy is responding well to training and knows basic commands, but he will need more practice walking on a leash. He will also need continued reinforcement and routine when it comes to house training. It is suggested he wear a belly band until he settles in with his new family. He sleeps in his safe space, and when left alone hangs out in his quiet area with his favorite toys. He's eager to learn and will do best with a family who will continue to train him and reinforce his successes with love and treats. Medical: Teddy is a healthy boy and will just require monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any other pup. Other Animals: Teddy has experience with small dogs and enjoys playing with dogs his own size. He will require another small, young playful dog in his new home to help him burn off energy. He has not yet been tested with cats, so a home without cats is needed. Children: This little guy has not spent time with children in his current home, so homes with only older children 12+ years who are dog-savvy, or no children. Home: Teddy requires a single-family home with a securely fenced yard, courtyard or birdcage so that he gets plenty of daily exercise and playtime, He enjoys basking in the sun and chasing lizards. This boy prefers someone who is home more often than not since he enjoys companionship. Whether it's human snuggles or playtime with other dogs, this smart boy enjoys staying connected. Grooming: Sweet Teddy will need regular professional grooming to look and feel his best approximately every six weeks. Adopters should plan on budgeting $60 for these services. Overall: If you are looking for a fun-loving boy who loves to play, Teddy may be the one for you! Are you the one for Teddy? Please visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You'll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it's a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $400.
