My Story

My Ideal Home: I would thrive in a calm and patient home environment where my adopters can help me acclimate at my own pace. Since I can be reactive on leash and sensitive to certain handling, my new family should have experience with dogs like me or be willing to work with a trainer to ensure I feel safe and supported. I'd prefer a home without children under 13, where I can focus on bonding with adults. Good with Other Pets? I may not be the best fit for homes with other dogs just yet. While I can interact with dogs in controlled settings, I've shown tense and unsure behaviors during dog-to-dog interactions. For now, dog parks aren't the best place for me. I would benefit from slow and positive introductions to other pets, if necessary. Good with Children? I'm best suited for an adult-only home or a household with teenagers (13+). My on-leash reactivity and handling sensitivity make it important for me to be with people who can respect my boundaries and work with me gently. How is My Health? I'm in good health overall! During my medical exams, I allowed handling but did feel tense during procedures like blood draws. I eventually relaxed with gentle and patient handling. How Are My Leash Manners? I have moderate leash-pulling strength, especially when I see other dogs. If another dog reacts to me, I can become frustrated and pull hard, but I am highly motivated to learn better behaviors with positive reinforcement. A front-clip harness will help manage my excitement and keep our walks enjoyable. What Is My Behavior Determination? I'm a Level 3 dog, meaning I'll need adopters who can meet my specific needs and challenges. I've shown handling sensitivity and on-leash reactivity, so it's important to work with me using force-free, reward-based training to help me build confidence and trust. My adopters will also need to manage my environment to set me up for success. Fun Facts About Me: I love belly rubs and showed my tummy to strangers during my intake at the shelter! I have a soft and wiggly side when I'm relaxed and comfortable. I enjoy attention and will approach people with a wagging tail and a gentle lick of their hands. I'm looking for someone who will celebrate my quirks and invest in my growth. With the right home and love, I'm ready to shine!
