Toastie

Meet Toastie !! This sweet boy is so fun and well behaved. He loves everyone and is such a joy to have around. Toastie just turned 3 years old this week. He is a male, beagle mix. He weighs 26 pounds and is full grown. He is already neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is thankfully heartworm negative. Toastie did great with meeting all the dogs in his foster home. He’s with small and large dogs, senior and playful dogs. He’s great with them all. He isn’t fostered with cats so we don’t know how he would do. He’s been absolutely wonderful with children. He loves kids and was the star of the show when he went out to a sporting event and played with everyone he could. He is doing really well with his training so far. He has so far been perfect with his potty trained. He is crate trained and does great in the car. He does really well out of the crate in the house and is a fantastic bedtime snuggle partner. He pulls some on the leash but mainly when he sees people to get hugs from and other dogs to play with. He is very social and has never met anyone he wasn’t prepared to share his love and puppy kisses with. Toastie has a medium energy level. Inside he just wants to be with his people he loves to be held and sit with you, but will get up and play if there are playmates. He has a good mix of playful energy and calm relaxed cuddle times. His foster says he came in and joined the pack immediately without any issues. He is learning well and for a hound he has been fairly quiet. That could always change but so far, he isn’t loud. He is a fairly easy-going guy that would make a great companion for one lucky family. Toastie has not shown any aggression at all while he has been with us or at the shelter he came from. He’s been fine sharing food, treats and toys with both humans and other dogs. His foster can take anything away from him with no trouble. HOWEVER, he does sadly have a blemish on his history that we are required to disclose despite us not agreeing with it. He is considered to have a “bite history” due to a child holding a toy up in the air to play with him and when he jumped to grab the toy he accidentally got the child’s hand with the toy. While we don’t think this is a fair or true intentional bite incident, we have to tell his future family. Overall this little guy is a real gem. He is already trained, so sweet with everyone and full of love. We cant wait to see what awesome family will pick him as their new best friend. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA.
