My Story

Trailblazer was found alone, scared, and malnourished. Initially she was afraid of human touch but with patience she started to open up enough to be placed in a foster home where she has since flourished. Trailblazer’s foster parents report that she loves other dogs and depends on them. "She would do best in a family with at least one other friendly dog. She also does well with cats, donkeys, and horses. She is getting more comfortable on a leash and does well off leash. She hasn’t had a single accident in the house and is very sweet. She has been introduced to strangers with the presence of another dog and although a little shy at first, she warms up. Her fears have turned into curiosity and she is becoming more confident every day. She is fun and a joy to be around." Trailblazer has been to the vet where it was determined that she has a genetic defect in a rear limb. This will be a life long condition without corrective surgery. At this point Trailblazer seems to no pain associated with this condition. She is otherwise healthy, 43 lbs. about 3 years old, heartworm negative. Trailblazer has not been spayed therefore is available to go into a home on a foster to adopt basis until she is spayed and can be legally adopted.
