My Story

Hi everyone, I'm Tucker! Pure bred black lab and 100% good boy! I was born on 3/28/24 (almost 8 months old) and I'm 65lbs. I have completed my major growth, but still have a little left to do. I am a big boy filled with the most love, happiness and playfulness! Here is what you should know about me:    I know to go to the bathroom outside, and I do very well in a crate overnight and periodically during the day for good stretches of time. My favorite activities are tug and fetch! I love to run around my foster mom's yard and I will follow her if I see her walking away from me while off-leash. I know my name and I am doing good with recall, but I need to be kept on a leash while on walks or not in a fenced yard as I am still getting used to my surroundings and get easily distracted and excited. So far, my favorite tricks are "sit", "spin", and "find it". I am easily re-directed with toys and I am very food motivated which has been great for training. I get excited at first when in the car, but calm down fast and eventually lay down in the back seat.   What am I working on? I need to work on jumping when I get excited. I am a puppy packed in a big body and so fun and playful with lots of energy to get out! My foster mom says that I am SO friendly and want to give everyone I see the most love and kisses. The commands we are working on are: "paw", "lay down", "off", "wait", and "place".    What does my ideal forever home look like? I am an energetic boy that would love outside time during the day. I am great in my crate, but I love to be out playing with my toys and near my foster mom while she works from home. I have absolutely loved playing in the yard and taking walks. Someone that is able to dedicate time to my needs during the day, or a family with an older child or children to be able to handle my size and tire me out (mentally and physically) would be a dream come true. Tucker's adoption fee is $700, which includes: his alter, a microchip, his rabies and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.
