My Story
This huge stunning pair of Danes are Tank and Stella! They are unique, gorgeous, and ready to find a forever home where they will finally be loved! They came into the pound after animal control discovered them living in terrible conditions. They were fed infrequently, had minimal access to water, and were just desperate for someone to love and care for them. They went into the local animal control facility which is a kill shelter, and everyone was shocked to see this incredibly large bonded pair, so neglected and so devoted to each other, eager to connect with any human they could. Unfortunately we didn’t have a long term foster available but thankfully we were able to find a short term solution so these guys could get out and get some much needed love, groceries, and overall care.
These guys went to the vets and began their road to great health! Fortunately they tested negative for heartworm! They have now had their vaccines done, their deworming, microchipping, and they have been spayed and neutered! Tank had what’s called where eye where there is an inflamed/dislocated gland in the eye. He has had corrective surgery on it, but there’s still a little inflammation in the pictures but he’s recovering wonderfully and won’t need additional care for his eye. He’s healing great! They are 16 months old and have been gaining weight well! Stella’s current weight is 102 lbs and Tanks current weight is 112, however they are still gaining! The vet has given them a clean bill of health, and they are ready for adoption!
These two are very bonded, and so loving with people. They have been incredible with every volunteer they have met, and are soooo so super sweet! They are gaining weight and not full size weight wise, but they are super tall, young and are strong! They truly are like having 2 ponies in the house!
They have been great going potty outside. They love to play in the yard together, and can be found snoozing in the sunlight snuggled up together. They are so adorable together it’s so sweet to watch their relationship. They hang out together when their foster parents are at work, and are such a joy to be around. They are dreaming of a home with parents who are extra large breed enthusiasts, who have a yard for them to play and relax in, and who will shower them with love! They never had toys in their last home and they are so excited to learn to play and have fun! They have food available all the time now and are doing great gaining and sharing. They have been great with everyone that comes over and are truly thriving with love! They’ve surely dreamed their whole lives of parents who will snuggle them, pet them, pepper them with kisses, and overall give them a loving, warm, stable, forever home.
Their markings are so unique and beautiful, and they’re truly a stunning pair. Photos don’t do them justice! We can’t wait to see them their ideal weight and in a home where they will be cherished always for the big babies that they truly are! They love each other deeply and have been together their entire lives, so while we understand it may be easier to split them up, it doesn’t feel ethically right; therefore they must be adopted together… to fabulous parents who will treat them as their babies, and ensure their future is always bright.
