My Story

Introducing Vee, the 47 lb, 4-year-old shepherd and black mouth cur mix with the perfect blend of sass, sweetness, and snuggles! Vee’s got that "I run this household" energy but in a super chill, non-dictatorial way. She’s child-friendly, cat-friendly, dog-friendly—basically, if you’re alive and breathing, Vee’s cool with you. Vee’s hobbies include stealing your spot on the couch the second you get up, giving you those “puppy eyes” until you share your snacks, and being *fabulously* low-maintenance. She’s the kind of girl who wakes up looking flawless without even trying (seriously, she doesn’t even shed that much). Vee also doubles as a babysitter—she’s great with kids and will patiently let them dress her up in costumes while maintaining her dignity. Looking for a dog who’s equal parts lounge queen and hiking buddy? Vee’s your girl. She’s the perfect blend of “Netflix binge” and “Let’s explore the great outdoors,” and she’ll happily switch gears depending on your mood. Adopt Vee today, and get ready for endless laughs, lots of cuddles, and the most loyal sidekick you could ever ask for! PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for puppies covers initial deworming, puppy vaccinations, microchip, and spay/neuter at the rescue's approved vet at 6 months of age. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match! **Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
