My Story

Meet Velma, a darling 15-16 week old Yorkie/other Terrier mix (possibly with Chihuahua or mini Schnauzer) who’s looking for her perfect forever family! With her expressive eyes, cute little floppy ears, and charming personality, this sweet pup will instantly steal your heart. Currently weighing 11 lbs, we estimate Velma will reach about 14-16 lbs when fully grown. However, her breed mix and adult size are still a bit of a mystery, which just adds to her unique charm! Velma has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on all her age-appropriate vaccinations and vet care. She also takes a monthly chewable to keep her protected from fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Velma’s Backstory: Velma and her sibling were found together by a kind person who posted them, hoping to find them homes. When we met the finder at the vet, they had already decided to keep Velma’s sibling. At that time, Velma’s sibling was showing signs of illness, so both pups received an antibody shot as a precaution. Velma never tested positive but was given supportive care to ensure her health. She stayed with the finder for an additional 10 days, during which time she remained perfectly happy and healthy. Velma was a little trooper through it all and never missed a beat! This playful little girl is full of energy and joy. She has a cute habit of sitting up on her back legs like a chipmunk whenever she’s hoping for a treat or some extra attention. Velma loves to romp around with her doggy friends, chase balls, and play tag in the yard. She would do wonderfully in a home with other small to medium-sized dogs, but she would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as a single dog. Velma is also good with cats and can happily live alongside feline friends. However, she’s a spunky puppy who may occasionally try to play with them, so dog-savvy cats who don’t mind a bit of puppy enthusiasm would be ideal. When she’s not busy playing, Velma is the ultimate snuggle bug. She loves to burrow under blankets, roll around in them, and give sweet puppy kisses to anyone lucky enough to be nearby. Being a puppy, Velma is still learning the ropes of house training. She’s crate trained and can use a doggy door if available, but she’s still mastering her general house manners when left loose in the home. She’s great on a leash and enjoys her little harness, though she’s still figuring out where the leash ends — it’s all part of the fun of puppyhood! Due to her small size, we are seeking a home with children aged 10-12 years or older, or a home without young children, to prevent any accidental tumbles or bumps. If you’re looking for an affectionate, playful, and endlessly adorable companion, Velma could be the perfect addition to your family. Could this sweet girl be the one you’ve been waiting for?
