Questions about our adoption process can generally be answered by reviewing the Adoption FAQ's. Vinny is a 64 pound puppy that is 5 to 6 months old. His adult canines are just about halfway in. He is brindle in color and a beautiful golden brindle! His coat is medium length and he looks to be a mastiff mix. This guy doesn’t know any strangers. He loves everyone and is a big goofy boy. He was found two months ago and is being kept outside in the backyard of his finders. He loves playing with their Rottweiler female. Vinny barks at cats, so we do not know how he would do with cats. Vinny wants to be a lapdog and doesn’t understand his size so he will jump up on the chair next to you or try to get into your lap. We did say he was a goofy boy, and we are not joking haha. He loves toys and will carry them around in his mouth and they are feeding him puppy food. He does know sit and he will walk on a leash, such a smart boy. He loves treats and really wants and needs to be an indoor dog. Because the people who found him, are not letting him in the house, we do not know if he is potty trained. But large dogs are generally easier to potty train and having a doggie door helps and this way he can come and go when he wants. Vinny is looking for a companion or family of his own where he can be an inside guy but also a fenced in yard where he can run around an play or take in the rays in the nice weather. Since Vinny is still a puppy, he is looking for someone that has the time, love and patience to continue to teach him all he needs to know, so he can be all he can be. An application must be filled out and accepted before a meet can be set up. If accepted, you will hear from us within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time. We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore, meets and adoptions take place at either our office or at a place chosen by the adoption coordinator. If a pet has 'Adoption Pending' beside its name, an adoption is imminent. Please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through. Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for.
