Hi! I'm Walter. Don’t let my name fool you—I’m a young, energetic guy with a keen sense of smell! The shelter team didn't meet my parents, so they can’t say for sure, but they think I might be part of the hound family. I love to run and explore new scents. They estimate that I’m around 2-3 years old.
I'm looking for a home where I can burn off all my energy! I have an athletic build and would love to be someone’s hunting, hiking, or camping buddy—basically, I’m up for any outdoor adventure!
I could use a little help with my manners, but I’m learning! Some of the kind volunteers have taken me on field trips, and they say I did really well. I’m okay with kids, though living with them full-time might be a bit much for me. I also have some dog friends here at the shelter, so I might do well with a fur sibling as long as we have a proper introduction.
As for cats, I don’t seem to be too interested, but since I’m a hound, I may need close supervision around them.
I’m staying at the shelter and would love to meet you! The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
